What's Happening at HopeWood Outdoors?

What's it like to host your event at camp?

Opportunities to support HopeWood's Mission!
When I camped at our sites as a child—with many summers at Mowana along with visits to LMC, Luther, and Frederick—I always told my parents that my favorite parts of the camping experience involved water. Creek walks. Lake views. The solar shower at Homestead Camp. And of course, the pool. These are baptismal remembrances for me, every one of them.

You’ve likely heard by now that the pool at HopeWood Pines is now out of commission after nearly 60 years of faithful service. But don’t fret! Thanks to the generosity of many donors, we’re confident that we can break ground in time to have an improved pool in full operation for LMC at HopeWood Pines in Summer 2024.

For all that this camping organization gave to me as I grew up, and for all that other camps meant to my wife’s faith formation, my wife and I want to join our donors in the effort to pay for Pines' new pool.

Given that this year is also LMC’s 75th anniversary, Michelle and I are committing $7,500 dollars to "Make A Splash" at HopeWood Pines. I invite you to join me in that effort, making special gifts with the number “75” in it: $75, $750, and so on. You can even end a round amount in 75 cents! In this way, together we can honor the legacy of ministry at LMC while ensuring that campers for generations to come can remember their baptisms at HopeWood Pines. I hope you’ll join in this effort and "Make A Splash" gift yourself.

Once the pool is completed, we’re planning a very special pool party to thank all who contribute to the new pool for Lutheran Memorial Camp at HopeWood Pines. Stay tuned to Fireside News for more information.

In gratitude for you,

Drew, HopeWood Outdoors Executive Director
