This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our campers. Trinity Marysville has generously kick-started a campaign to replace all the mattresses in our camps, ensuring every camper has a clean, comfortable place to rest after a full day of adventure, learning, and faith-building. Now, we need your help to raise the rest of the funds and bring this vision to life.
At HopeWood Outdoors, our priority is to nurture faith, build community, and foster connections with creation. The simple gift of a good night’s sleep is essential for every camper to fully experience the joy and growth that comes with camp life. Worn-out mattresses can be a barrier to restful nights and happy mornings, and it’s time to replace them. Your gift today can help us give the gift of peaceful rest to every camper who comes through our doors.
As we reflect on Exodus 33:14, where God promises, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest,” we’re reminded that rest is more than physical—it’s spiritual. A safe and comfortable bed can be a sanctuary, a place to feel God’s presence, and to recharge for the adventures ahead.
Please join us this Giving Tuesday by donating through the link provided. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps us build a better experience for all our campers. Together, we can meet this goal and give the gift of peaceful rest to generations to come.

Staff Highlight - Program Director, Hannah V. Clay
In our new social media series, we will be highlighting our wonderful HopeWood Outdoors' Staff!
Hannah knew from a very young age that when she grew up, she wanted to be a camp counselor! Camp has always been a place of welcome where she felt invited and encouraged to be her most authentic self and she wanted to help others feel the same. Hannah first served on staff at Camp Luther at HopeWood Shores in 2012. During the following years, through 2019, she served in many different roles (counselor, retreat host, program coordinator, team coordinator, program staff, & office assistant) with the whole organization at HopeWood Pines, HopeWood Connect, & Camp Mowana. She knew that outdoor ministry was her calling and graduated college as a communications studies major with a minor in outdoor leadership. Hannah has been in her current position as Program Director for the past 3 years.
When she is not at camp, Hannah loves spending quality time with her husband Ford, and their 2 cats Lint & Ellen. Together they enjoy spending time in nature hiking, kayaking, & playing disc golf. Hannah loves playing games and spending time with friends. She also has some friendly competition with Ford as they have ongoing Mario Party & putt-putt golf games.

Fall 2024
As I reflect on my first year as Program Director, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve this incredible community and for the wonderful experiences we've shared. One of the highlights of this year has been our hosted retreats. These events have truly become the heart and soul of our programming beyond the summer months, and they continue to play a pivotal role in sustaining our camp’s mission.
This year, I had the privilege of meeting so many amazing groups who trusted us to host their retreats. Each group brought its own unique energy, and I have been inspired by the connections, growth, and moments of joy we’ve witnessed. It’s been a rewarding experience to see how these retreats have not only helped our guests deepen their bonds, but also strengthen the very foundation of our organization.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I’m excited to continue building on this success in the years to come and can’t wait to see what next year brings for our camp family!
